5km Time Trial : 36.30

Today was just going to be a normal run when i remembered a bet I had with a friend - we’re both doing the manchester run (10km) in may, so we had a bet who would finish first so this made me up the tempo and see how quick I could do a 5km run. I managed it in 36.30 which is better than my 39 though the other day. I also had a 2 minute walk to drink some water which I could’ve cut out and darnk as I ran.

My target for the run is 1 hour or under so I need to keep on cutting my 5km time to get it down to 30minutes. Im going to a long slower run on friday to start addding some mileage - I have yet run 10km since I’ve been back running so I’ll aim to do around 7km on friday.

My fitness seems to be building slowly back to what it was, I have to stay disciplined though and stick to my running only every other day or risk another injury.
