Today I was really sore all over - My back was aching really bad from fishing yesterday (sat in a dodgy chair all day) and my calf muscles were aching from the 2 outdoor runs I’ve done this week, so I had to take it easy in the gym today. After a couple of painkillers I went to the gym and did :
- 26mins Cross Trainer
- 10 mins Exercise Bike
- 20 mins Running
I ran 3.32km in 20 mins, so a nice easy pace, I will see how the aches and pains are tommorow and I may do a 10km treadmill run if they’re not too bad. Going to get a load of protein ate today to try and repair my muscles.
The weigh-in wasn’t too bad - Im now 15stone 1pound, so a 1 pound loss from last week. Could have been better but still going in the right direction! Lets see if I can break that 15stone mark next week..

Went for another outside run today and managed 11.85km in 1hour 14mins. The first half went well but at about 5.5km I was getting sciatic pain in my left leg so on the way back I had to have a few 30 second breaks where I just bent over or sat down to ease the pain. I dont think Im ready to be doing 10km+ runs outside yet so I will continue in the gym for now with maybe one run a week outside.
Im having a day off tommorow to go fishing so that will give my legs a chance to repair after today’s long run then I’ll aim to go in the gym friday and saturday for a couple of 10km treadmill runs.

Wow, today was a great start to my running week - I did a quick 3.5km run in the gym in 20mins then went for a run outside and did 9km in 54mins. Thats my longest run outside without stopping or having to sit down etc - it shows that my back injury/sciatica is nearly cured.
Im very pleased with today’s running - Im going to aim to do a full 10km run outside tommorow, if it turns out ok I can finally dump the gym and the treadmill and do what I love - running in the outdoors!
Did my first 10km since before my holiday today, found it quite hard going as the fitness is not where it was, glad I pushed on though - should be easier next week.
I did a weigh in and I’m 15stone 2pounds still - doesnt help if you drink beer and eat pizza and Mc Donalds though I suppose! I will kick on next week and try really hard to get under that 15stone mark, I think it should be very possible.

Had a day off yesterday with a hangover! I blame all these world cup games …
Anyway, back in the gym today and ran 7.22km in 42mins, had a 2minute walk/drink break at 28mins because I had some slight sciatica pain, otherwise was a decent run - building back the fitness. Will aim for a 50minute run tommorow and then that’ll be it for this week.
Had a great start back in the gym today, ran 5.07km in 29mins - no leg pain what so ever, could have done a lot more but felt my fitness was slightly down so didnt want to push it first session back. Will probably do 40-50 mins tommorow and see how I get on.
Did a weigh in as well, expecting to have put on weight after my holiday but weighed in at 15stone 2pounds - a 2pound loss since my last weigh in.
All in all a great start back, looking forward to getting fitter and lighter from now on!

I got back friday from my week’s holiday, was nice to have a relaxing week and a break from running to let my legs recover, I’ve picked up a bit of a chest cold so no proper running just yet - I had a quick 2km outdoor run yesterday and I will do the same again today. Hopefully my cough will have died down enough tommorow for me to get in the gym.

Wow, I cant believe how fast I ran 10km in the gym today, just 57mins 09seconds - that beats my personal best by around 3 miuntes I ran for an hour and did 10.38km in 59.25minutes. I even had a 3minute walk break halfway! Im still struggling to walk for more than 10minutes witout sciatica pain but I managed that. Im off on oliday on friday for 7 days and then I’m giving up smoking when I get back so Im sure I will be able to break the 50minute barrier soon for the 10km.

Didnt feel great in the gym today, monday blues I guess :
- 10 mins Run
- 15 mins Cycling
- 20 mins Run
Did a quick 3km in 17mins and then an upper body workout. The weights were really hard as this is the first proper lot I have done for 6months, I feel quite sick now!
Might have another quick run outside later as the weather is really nice, think I will leave the weights for now. Not a nice feeling.
